ted docherty
Broody Silky! is it too late in the year to give her fertilised eggs? I have 4 Silkies and a Pekin in eglu cube with 3x3 metres walk in run and would like to have more girls.
mullethunter
Personally I wouldn’t hatch this late - they won’t grow so fast with shorter days (less time for eating) and risk getting chilly in bad weather, but if she’s a good mum and the weather is kind you might be OK. ted docherty
Many thanks for your reply. I am checking the next 2 days to ensure both girls are remaining on the nest and if ok will try with fertilised eggs. I am able to put another smaller coop inside the walk in run so will be able to keep watch. Ted
