Chili
For the first time in the 6 months that I have had my hens, one of them failed to roost this evening. Everybody else had gone into the hen house but I found one of them outside standing on my sink making a lot of noise. I picked her up and popped her into the house with everyone else. Is this common or just a one off? Chili xx
Eyren
Has she been laying late in the afternoon recently? Maybe she wanted to lay and the others were all hogging the nestbox...
Chili
Everybody was outside wandering about on what is left of my lawn. It's almost as if she got "left behind" when the others went to bed Chili xx
Tara123
One of mine decided to stay up late today too. Everyone else had gone to bed except Buttercup who decided to have a dust bath at about 5.30 and when she had finally finished she realised that it was getting dark and the others had disappeared
Jonny
One of ours, Charlie, is always last to bed by ages. Equally Dora is always first to bed before it gets dark!
Egluntyne
Once it goes dark they become disorientated as they can barely see in the dark, so she won't have been able to find her way home. Best encourage them into the run before it gets twilight.
