Janty
We have had our first egg from the bantams today and it weighed 42g. We presume that it was the Orpington miniature but I was wondering what sort of egg weight I could expect when my pekins start laying? CatsCube
I cant help re the pekins but my miniture orp started laying the other day, her eggs I dont think even hit the 40g mark and are a pinky colour. Are any of your squatting to indicate they have started laying?
Janty
No squatting but both the Orp and Popcorn my first pekin have bright red combs and my bantams were enclosed in the eglu run when the egg was laid so I know that no-one else was responsible. Eyren
I'd be interested to know, too, since I'm hoping to get some pekins None of my bantams squat, though - I think they're too independent-minded to kowtow to a mere human!
