debbie26pet
ive got a bit of melon that needs using up, can they have it, do i take it of the yellow skin? how do u give it to yours?
Egluntyne
I'd cut the skin off and remove the seeds and either leave it in a big chunk so that they can peck at it or cut it into tiny pieces.
Eyren
I've never given mine melon, but apparently some chooks like cucumber and that's not much different. I would just give it with the skin on, so they can peck at it more easily. Don't be disappointed if they turn their noses up, though - mine don't like grapes
Laura & CTB
Mine like melon - I leave the skin on and they spend ages pecking away at it- when they've finished there's only a wafer thin layer of skin left
muzzie
My chickens are being shipped to me in two weeks with a melon in the box for them to eat it will also keep them hydrated. The seeds are also ok for them to eat.
Snowy
Mine love melon, with skin on and seeds. If we are having melon, I s"Ooops, word censored!"e the seeds into their treat bowl (in fact, there isn't much mine don't like come to think of it )
