redhotchick
Very sorry to hear you lost one of your chickens. I've had my 2 a little over 3 weeks now and I'm so fond of them already. How very upsetting for you. Hope you get a new friend for Mabel soon.
alih
really sorry to hear about Maud - absolutely awful for you and her. I had 2 chooks from Omlet, one fo which dies after 3 weeks. They recommend I get a new one straight away as the remaining chook can get very lonely and it can be more difficult to merge them. I spoke to a lovely chicken lady near here who said that as mine were so young introducing 1 should not be a problem. I got one staright away - different breed - the same day in fact, and popped her in at night with Pumpkin. The next few days i kept them in the run together so the new one could get used to her new home. There was a bit of squabbling but after a day or 2 it sorted itself out and now they are best mates. I would suggest getting one straight away if you can bear to as your chook will love you for it.
dogs and chickens
I have no idea as to how this could have happened, I just wanted to say how sorry I was for you, you poor love, how awful. I brought two Meadowsweet birds today - White stars, they are lovely looking birds, and the meadowsweet agent was really helpful, and you get to choose your chicken out of the pen, which I really enjoyed! I added them to the cube at about 4p.m and they were all huddled up happily this evening, I guess that was very lucky! Good luck with your new girl/girls Bless you
