GEB
Only two of my hens are laying at the moment and unfortunately they both seem to want to lay at exactly the same time. Yesterday one held on till the other was done as they wouldn't share the nest box and they both laid in the nest. But today one ended up laying in the run. Can i do anything to stop this? Will this be a tempory problem as surely their cycles won't be the same so after a few days they will be laying at different times? What do you think? Snowy
It can be a problem, the more hens you have, the more likely they will end up competing for a single nest box. The answer is add a nest box. Might be worth placing an extra box filled with straw in the eglu during the day - see if they will use that.
