Gallina
How do all you people who leave your food out at night stop mice from eating it? They can easily squeeze into the run at night. Surely they are also able to climb up the bars and into the Grub? Now that I have got rid of my rat problem, I am tempted to leave the food out when the weather is dry: but I don't want to pay to feed mice. I am very lazy about water, however: there is a limit to the number of containers you can bring in and out every day. I wish Omlet would design a Grub with a closing mechanism like the Cube, so you could open it up from outside in the morning.
chelsea
I have a home built run with very small mesh Gallina, a mouse couldnt fit through it.
MrandMrsG
I bring the grub container inside every night so as not to attract any undesirable wildlife from being attracted to the run. I also dump the water and bring that in to wash so it is clean in the morning. Ditto too!
Gallina
I used to be very good when I had just the Eglu, and one Glug and Grub. I now have two Glugs and four Grubs, but still only the same number of hands. I do find food and water management the most tedious thing about keeping chickens. I think it is particularly important to bring the food in when it is wet, as it does get damp, and also slugs and snails climb into the Grub when it is raining. I know I should bring all the food in every night, but sometimes I lapse.
