do chooks eat bindweed and is it bad for them?

Recommended Posts

My Cube and run will be in a fixed position that used to be full of shrub roses until the next-door neighbours paved over their entire garden so their children could "drive" their plastic cars. Unfortunately the one living thing they left to grow on the boundry was bindweed. (They were from Australia, so perhaps they just thought it was pretty, which it is.)

I expect that it will come up in the run, so I'd appreciate any information or advice. Will the chooks eat it? :D Or might it be harmful? :(

Mine didn't eat it last year but they did scratch a lot of it up. I got my first chooks in september though, so it was starting to die off by then. I'm waiting to see what happens this year as the site of the walk in run has always been rampant with bindweed, no matter how thoroughly I dig it out.
