Pookylover
Hi, I collected my 10 ex batt girls last Sunday and I am smitten! When we collected them their combs were very pale and a week later I can see them going very red already. I kept them in their shed for the first afternoon then let them out for an hour before dusk the next day. Only 3 came out and I increased the time the following day. More ventured out until we got to yesterday and they were all waiting for me when I went up yesterday morning! We had a job getting them to bed last night too! I have seen such a difference in them in a couple of days. They have gone from doing nothing to being chickens in a few days! They know I am the food lady too! We have a wooden swing bench next to the chicken shed and I was sitting on it last night with them having my yellow crocs attacked! I can't remember being without them to be honest. They have brought me such joy and I love watching them. I will get some photos of them on here for you to see whe I can and hopefully find names for them. They are already showing characters! Egluntyne
It is amazing how they know how to behave like chickens despite having been denied the opportunity to scratch around, dust bathe, chase insects etc for their entire lives prior to rescue. I'm glad you are enjoying them.
