Keanie Bean
We put out two new girls Lola and Marge in the Eglu last night for the fiast time since getting them. It was so sweet as well as being really nerve racking. Dixie and Luna had gone in to the eglu at about 8.20 last night and when I looked out Lola and Marge were desperately trying to get in still at 9 but they kept getting pecked. I was just about to intervene when in they went, so I ran over and shut the door on them and waited. There was about 4-5 minuites of thumping noises and then all went quiet. This morning I was hoping not to find anything horrid and gingerly opened the eglu door 1...2...3 chickens (panic set in) I opened the door to find Lola looking up at me, she was fine. They were all fine. I'm so pleased, they loved the shed but I prefer them in the Eglu. Sarah.x
Steph101
Well done. Perhaps you could give me a few tips... How long were they all living in the shed before you put them into the eglu? What time of day did you introduce them to each other to begin with? What sort of chickens are they? I ask all these questions, as I have three POL black rocks joining our 26 week old girlies tonight. Wondering what the best course of action should be. I'll eagerly wait for replies to that too... we'll be introducing girls to each other at some point in the near future, and am eagerly reading all 'new introductions' post
