Mutrix Farmers
As the girls are having their first proper free ranging weekend, we were trying to work out how to give them access to the barer parts of the flower bed so they could dust bath. But behind our backs the girls had discovered a large wooden planter that has a small contorted hazel planted in it. All three were scratching away, flicking compost all over the decking. Enough's enough thought I and found a large tray from the greenhouse, filled it with compost and sand, and dumped the offenders in it. They had a lovely time rolling around like pigs in mud! Thanks to everyone that answered my last thread about dust baths - the girls say thanks too
Squatlobster
I watched two of mine having a dirt bath today, for the first time (that I'd seen them anyway). It was hilarious - they shut their eyes and rolled about as if they were drunk! I am new to chickens and they are providing me with [far too] many hours of entertainment. They weren't even scared of a noisy electric lawnmower just inches away from them either today.
Stevie
I watched mine earlier rolling around in a border. They look sooooo happy flicking the soil over them and i feel contented that they're able to do as nature intended.
