ajm200
One of our hens, Violet has just laid her second egg of the day and it's a whopper!! She made a right old racket announcing it to the world too... and so she should it's perfect and an eye watering 96g. She's such a clever girl.. I didn't think it was possible for them to lay two eggs in a day but I guess her teenage hormones are to blame About 6am she laid a tiny 34g egg and I know it was her as I caught her in the act. She disappeared into the eglu a while ago and just started to bok very loudly... I went to check on her and found another perfect egg. It's definately hers as it is still hot and all others have been pigging out on treats for the last 30 mins Wow!!
ajm200
Oh dear, our neighbour from two doors up has just popped round to ask if my chickens are ok as she could hear Violet's celebrations from her front room. I hope it's a one off or we're going to have complaints flooding in from the neighbours
surferdog
Oh dear! Mine were making a terrible racket yesterday about 7.30am (because they wanted to come out but it was raining) - I could hear them from the front of the house. I shot out to shush them before the neighbours complained. I will take some eggs round once we get a reliable supply. At the moment they're doing a lot of advertising but not much delivering
Mutrix Farmers
96g - that's enormous! Congratulations Violet If my neighbour complains I'll get an asbo slapped on his stupid noisy dog!! He's deaf anyway (the neighbour not the dog) so I don't suppose he would notice. And our other neighbours are so interested that I'm sure they won't complain! Nice of your neighbour to check that they are OK! Obviously a chicken friend.

Lindy Loo
Was the neighbour complaining or just concerned that something like a fox might be worrying them? I sometimes think the we (well I) worry about what neighbours think/feel when the neighbours aren't at all concerned!
