How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Well I originally put a sand filled trug in as a dustbath last Saturday when girls arrived. They ignored it or tried to eat it Picked up a bag of compost today from Asda and have mixed it with the sand - they are in seventh heaven - well two of them definately are

 

Trouble is my lovely clean looking Coral/silver star? Milly now looks a filthy chicken She's a happy thing though I've told her she has to preen all the dirt off overnight.

 

Oh put a mirror in as well - that is a complete hoot - they adore pecking the strange new chickens in it

I wish someone had warned me about white chickens - they don't look white for long!

I always know when mine have been dust bathing under shrubs out of sight cos the next morning-the roosting bars are covered in fine dirt!

Hi,

 

I was wondering why my chucks aren't using their dustbath. I have put a washing up bowl (half full) with a mix of compost, playsand and diatom in their eglu run but they just look at it and walk away.

 

Last night whilst they were freeranging they both had a dust bath under a shrub.

 

Is there something wrong with my homemade attempt ?

That's all I have in mine, except the Diatom which is going in tomorrow. Mine only seemed to notice it today after I put the compost in, but I also filled it right up to practically full - its gone everywhere but maybe that made a difference as well. Try topping it up a bit and see if that helps

Thanks, i'll give it a try. Perhaps i was a bit stingy with the compost - i'll fill it up tomorrow!!
