Should I do something to help her?

Recommended Posts

Kay FINALLY laid her first egg today - so three out of four laying now. It was small - as expected - but had slight smearing on the sides - presumably tiny bit of blood, so must have been a little uncomfortable for her.

Haven't had this with the other two, but as it is Kay's first not too alarmed. Is there something I could do to help her next egg and stop it being so uncomfortable (she does NOT like being handled!) or just leave things for a day or so while she gets into the way of things?

Thanks

Thank you! I was hoping you said that, and not ask me to pick her up and put castor oil all around her petticoat-nether regions!

Had an 87g egg from Caroline today - what a comparison with little Kays' first offering!
