4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

I moved my 3 birds into the new Eglu this morning, they seemed impressed.

 

One, who has been eating her own eggs recently, went into the nest, laid a nice blue egg.

 

Came down this evening, expecting to see an empty rum, to see all 3 sat in the corner of the run, opposite end to the coop, in fact one was on sat on top of the other!

 

I put them into the coop closed the door and they seem quite happy!

Welcome to the forum, Grasshopper30 . I take it you already had the hens before you got the eglu? Did you have another kind of coop? What type of chickens do you have?

We have 2 Back Rocks and a Heritage Sky Blue (I think, she lays nice medium blue eggs and sometimes she doen't eat them ) She lays as often as the Black Rocks, and she's the boss!

 

We had tried to modify our old wooden coop by trying to fit roll away nests as the girls had got into the habit of egg eating! The modification didn't work out and the coop looked a bit of an eye sore and as we are trying to rent our house out soon we thought an Eglu would look a lot better, the girls laid an egg each by lunch time today, without eating them, so we think they approve!
