Hen Huggers R Us

OMG how embarassing!!!

Recommended Posts

Today is our recycling day and the glass gets collected also. Our girl Amber has just announced her presense to the entire neighbourhood, by Bok Bokking at the top of her lungs everytime she heard the glass being dumped into the dump truck!!! This carried on for about half an hour until the binmen got to our house and them she shut up! I had to catch her in the garden and put her in the coop to shut her up.

As we live in a small quiet cul-de-sac and it states on our deeds we are not allowed to keep livestock , I just hope she hasn't ruined her chances of a quiet life.

Anyway you are also not allowed to erect fences and satellite dishes but that is all around us so if anyone tries to get the girls evicted, they will have to imprison me first!!!!!! :?

I class them as pets anyway not a commodity.

I think you could argue that your hens are pets, and pets are not livestock. Whoever wrote the deeds was surely thinking of donkeys, goats, ostriches - and unicorns, of course

An aside: whoever wrote my lease 30 years ago was being "too clever" and perhaps should have used a dictionary. It says that I can't keep animals "of any phylum ... to which the Lessor shall take objection". I believe that that means that, if I kept an orang-utan

the freeholder could not use the lease to make me get rid of it.
