Does anyone know if you can get a growers mash/crumb rather than pellets?. I know you can get them for layers but I havent seen any for growers and my babes seem to be struggling a bit with the pellets?

When I looked at the Marriages site it wasn't that easy to buy online if I remember, I think you had to send details if you wanted them to give you stockists details or place an order.

 

My chickens were 8 - 10 weeks old when I got them and they didn't eat many pellets; I made a mash for them with Pellets and hot water (keep adding water gradually until it's like a porridgey consistency). They wolfed it down and still do, they are 14 weeks old now but still prefer the pellets porridge to the dry pellets!!

 

At least you would get rid of your growers pellets that way and not waste them

Thanks moomin, never thought of that I will give that a try. I have been sticking them in the blender and giving them a quick whizz to make them more like chick crumbs.
