there seems to be a large disparity between the US site and the uk site. the US site charges 495USD for the eglu all in and the UK charges £395.

 

The US price is about £247 in UK pounds.

 

seems we in the uk are paying a lot more than our cousins across the pond!

Is that US price with hens? UK price is £360, which includes £20 delivery, without hens & feed.

Things are always dearer here.

 

Maybe we should order over there and then import them back. It might be cheaper!

When doing comparisons, please don't forget that the exchange rate is very variable, and just happens to be in our purchasing favour at the moment.

 

I would also expect the price to be VAT free for export, saving a further 17.5%

 

I wonder if the people importing into the US also have to pay the US form of excise duty/import tax?

I just looked at the US site $495 is without chickens or delivery - basic delivery is $170 in US = $665 without hens or feed.

 

So that makes it only slightly cheaper than UK.

That's tax for you
