Sue Ayalon
I have a dwarf victoria plum tree and the leaves are being eaten away and I can't find out what or who the culprit is, I guess it could be a butterfly but at present I cannot detect anything. Some leaves have almost disappeared but the fruits seem to be developing ok, should I be worried, can I spray it with anything without harming the fruits? Any ideas would be appreciated Sue
Tara.F
try wrapping gaffer tape around the trunk (higher up than your chooks can reach) and smearing grease on it (a good way to use up used motor oil) if your pest is a crawler it'll meet a sticky end
Lesley
It wouldn't be butterflies as they only eat nectar - caterpillars eat leaves, but you would be able to see them. Can you see any tiny green aphids? Grease bands are good for crawlies, as Sue says.
