lisaroo2
Hi All I know I've been abit quiet with tales about Daisy (aka Rocket Ronnie) but she's been reasonably well-behaved! (Coughs loudly...) Well tonight she's surpassed herself! Not only has she been on top of the eglu but she's lept into the air about 4ft and tried to get in the overhanging birch tree above! What am I going to do? She is now sitting in the nestbox Obviously thinking about the long lecture that I delivered shortly after her 'adventure'
cluckbok
Hi ya, I've no idea what your birch tree is like size wise but could you trim the branch back a bit which she tried to jump on? What a cheeky chook! Our raptors have been pecking at my Hebe plant tonight, OH said never mind we'll just buy something else once they've eaten that! moomin
Mine like eating hebes! And sometimes they look longingly upwards at the top of the fence (6ft high!!). like they're about to try jumping up! It's very nerve-wracking!
Egg Lou
Wow that is rather high! she does like keeping you on your toes!
lisaroo2
If Daisy DOES manage to get into the tree it is guaranteed that she will come down rather more quickly than she got up as the branches that are overhanging are very thin and won't take her weight... ...she hasn't budged from the nestbox since my last post! (probably still sulking!)
Guest
my husband, bless him, thought it would be amusing this afternoon to see how high the girls could jump! He held out meal worms at arms length and moved his hand higher and higher. The girls got their boutny every time!!! I don't think he should be training them to do the high jump but boys will be boys!
