4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Am due to collect some hens on weds (ex-batts), just a quick question about transporting them. Should we take a box per hen or would you put them all together? We have a large cat type basket - borrowed - and am wondering if I should get hold of another 2, or if they would be ok alltogether?

I don't want to get this wrong before weve even started!

i was told to put them in all together for when i collect mine as they are coming from the same place i guess they would be friendly with each other?

When I collected my 6 chickens, I took 2 cat boxes, i.e 3 in each.

 

I am thinking you are collecting 3 chickens so if your cat transporter is big enough then they would be happy to be together in the same box.

 

Maybe somebody else will have different advice.

I now bring all my chickens home in a cat carrier (have only had 3 in there at a time) so it will be fine, good luck !

We collected ours on Friday and didn't want any of them to be on their own, so we took crisp box size cardboard boxes with us and put two to a box.

You can use cat carriers, but the ones with the removeable top bit are best as otherwise it could be tricky trying to get them out once they are home!

thanks for the info chaps, I believe its entirely possible I am fretting just a tad too much!

I seem to be thinking about chickens constantly, even dreaming chickens atm! (Including a strange dream where you had to phone in to vote for your favorite TV chicken star - pop idol style!) I really need to get a life lol
