jomaxsmith
I was at Thornes (nr Letchworth, Herts) this morning and mentioned that people are having trouble getting blue egg layers. Apparently their next batch is coming in TONIGHT. It would definitely be worth ringing them before you travel as they sell out of hybrids really fast. superjules
Thanks for the tip Jo , I've just texted my friend who's hoping to get some chooks very soon. My skylines I got from Thorne's are lovely girls and lay beautiful eggs. I was lucky enough to get one laying blue eggs and one laying green. They are completely daft chooks though and can't find the door to their own run, bless them.
daisymay
Hi I've just phoned thornes and they said they have no blue egg layers until August. Maybe they are keeping a secret supply for very select people!! I am determined to get a blue egg layer!
jomaxsmith
Sorry about that - maybe Karl misheard me and was talking about his next batch of ordinary hybrids as he had just told me that the last lot sold out in 5 days. I was surprised they were getting any as I believe they are supplied by Glencroft and I had read on here hadn't currently got any. Sorry to get your hopes up Jo
redhotchick
Sorry to get your hopes up Jo I wouldn't worry. We know you had the best intentions and a good heart. I want a blue egg layer one day, and will be asking for tips nearer the time!

Boris70
Damn - just phoned - and I too got the no blue egg layers for about another 3 weeks. Makes sense though - as I only got the new girls on friday - and they didn't mention them then - even though he knows I want them. Just have to wait another few weeks..... just when I get one pecking order sorted, it'll be time for another one........
