4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

We've had Pecky (speckledy) since March and since we've had her she's only laid twice, both were normal eggs.

 

She goes in nestbox every morning for about 10 mins then comes out again having done nothing.

 

Well today she went in there and came out bok bokking like mad and wouldn't be quiet til we checked the nest box. We found what looks like a small pinkyish soft shelled egg the size of a budgies egg? OH burst the egg to see what it was like inside and it looked like egg white.

 

Do you think she could be getting her laying tackle back in order and that we may get an egg soon??

 

She's perfectly well in herself, happy, eating and drinking normally.

My little pekin did the same thing. It's quite common and it's called either a dwarf egg, a wind egg or (my husband's favourite) a fart egg. She only did this once then started laying 'proper' eggs.

Well, I've learnt something new . A fart egg . The boys will love that one .

You do start to worry a bit and if you haven't seen a "Fart Egg" before, you do wonder what it is.
