tommy64
Tonight I went to say hi to our girls, Hilda and Betty. However Betty was not herself, no 'bok bok', and she stayed in the run (despite the door being open) and seemed reluctant to move and was lethargic. Her rear/topside feathers were raised, almost like a bump on her back. Do these symptoms mean anything - or is it just being overheated from a hot day? Any ideas welcome, as I do not want to find her in the same state or worse tomorrow as they are now in 'bed'. Thanks.
chelsea
has she been wormed recently? If you havent done so for a long while it would be a good idea to try it. Is she eating and drinking ok? It might be a soft shelled egg coming....when my girls lay a soft shelled egg they are very quiet, hunched and looking miserable - it usually wears off a few hours after they have laid it. I would check her over for lice/mites etc aswell. Im sure she will perk up soon.
sugarplum
this is a conicident as its the same as one of my chickens was like yesterday too. i think it might be to do with a soft egg shell as there was an egg in the morning that was brocken and she seems better today. hope your chicken gets better x
