Katie
Well, Oreo the ever-elusive bantam has had to find a new home It's sad because her and Meringue were getting on great (can see them sunbathing together right now!) Their run looks like Fort Knox at the moment as I spent all Thursday putting up extra lengths of chicken wire in the run, as well as in the garden. But the higher we seem to get the chicken wire the higher she seems to jump We found her on the roof of the conservatory yesterday (And yes, she has her wings clipped!) She is happy out in the garden, but once she's in the run she's trying her best to even squeeze through the chicken wire! We built the run for the sole purpose that we can keep them locked up when no one is in/on holiday etc. But she manages to get out of the run in the morning which means she can't get back in for food/water, which just isn't practical Wish we could put a wire roof on it, but the way that it is positioned with the trees etc it just wouldn't work. Anyway, she's moving to a friends where she can roam over 3 acres with other little chickeny friends and I can still go and see my little Oreo when I want. So at least I know she is going to be happy with all that room to roam and she can re-live her farm life with no barriers. She has certainly had an impact in the short time of having her
Egluntyne
Sounds like the ideal solution for her. What a shame for you though. You have certainly tried your best.

She has a big old stable to sleep in and all the free ranging she could wish for It was for the best I felt. And knowing she has a lovely new home makes it better. Katie
I know! At least she'll have a long way to walk if she wants to escape! Hopefully it'll tire her out
