Dry roosting area, wet nest box

Recommended Posts

I woke in the night & heard the sound that I have been dreading- rain. Hubby let the girls out about 7.30 & I trotted aprehensively down the garden with my mag-lite to check for damage. I was pleased that the roosting area was dry, but the nestbox was all soggy, & with no signs of where the water had come in by.

I changed the shredded paper in there, & have just been out to check again & it's dry, but i can see water on the inside "square" bracket, which has come from the usual drainage point.

I'm waiting for my retro kit to come in the post to stop the problem. The post hasn't been yet today, so it may come still!

Hi Jules

I had the same problem as the water "bounces" of the side as it goes down the spout route and runs into nest box.. I have fixed very simply using duck tape( I can send photos if it helps?) and been discussing with James. He is feeding back the problem and fix.

Edited to add.. sorry just re read ( mind not working well :? ) and seen you are waiting for the fix anyway.. thought it was the version already amended..sorry!
