Lapinou
We got the Organic Feed Company layers pellets delivered from omlet with our elgu etc. and the delivery man assured us it already has grit in it so we don't need to add any more. I can't see anything on the packaging or organic feed company's website to confirm this...can anyone shed any light? TIA
Egg Lou
Sorry I'm not exactly sure but I have the same pellets ( not from omlet) and also give seperate grit anyway.. as would rather the hens decided if they need more. I have gallery pot full which they have taken half of in 2 weeks so must have needed it?

..lay a little egg for me
Sorry I'm not exactly sure but I have the same pellets ( not from omlet) and also give seperate grit anyway.. as would rather the hens decided if they need more. I have gallery pot full which they have taken half of in 2 weeks so must have needed it? Same here! Just recently they have really been going through the grit big time. I think that when they started laying they must have had enough calcium reserves but just recently they have been going through a coop-cup full every week! So, clearly, although the layers pellets do have some grit and shell, the chooks feel they need more.
