Seagazer
It was Neil Diamond at the O2. Absolutely brilliant. Better even than The Osmonds He did the full two hours with no intermission. I had been worried that his voice wouldn't be up to it but it was fantastic. What a showman. Kept getting goosebumps when he was singing. My OH and I both agreed that it was the best concert we'd ever been to. The O2 stadium is magnificent. I was so glad we weren't up in the gods though as I think my vertigo would have played up. Luckily we were at the side but in line with the end of the stage so got a really good view. I'm off to watch The Jazz Singer whilst doing my ironing this afternoon. chickencam
I had read bad reviews of his tour, glad you enjoyed it
Seagazer
Ooh - I hadn't seen any reviews. What did they say?
chickencam
I think it was in the Times or maybe Observer. They slated him for being boring and not singing well. I think it was in Newcastle.
Guest
I saw him a few years ago at Wembly and he was amazing. I woulnd't see him now as I think, like Sinatra, he has lost some of the magic. I would have gone if I'd never seen him before though! I did to see Sinatra.
Seagazer
I was listening to his new album yesterday and I actually think that singing live he is so much better - it sounded a bit flat on cd. OH and I just sat there in awe, nearly as good as seeing Elvis! Not that I have seen Elvis but we just kept saying to each other 'we're watching Neil Diamond in the flesh - so exciting'. I realise I'm probably sounding very sad now. I'd have liked to have seen Frank Sinatra. I saw Andy Williams a couple of years ago on a show singing live and he didn't sound very good at all so I know why people would be worried. But he was BRILLAINT! Guest
I saw Sinatra play the Albert Hall in the '80's. He was pretty awsome but well past his best and was reading the words off the autocue! I paid £50 for the WORST seats in the house - was a lot of money to me then. But it was a special night.

Seagazer
Oooh, glad you had a fantastic evening. I have just booked tickets to the O2 for this Saturday to take the kids to see the Britains got Talent Tour. Its to say thank you for putting up with Mum studying for the last four years. It was encouraging to hear you say the O2 is brilliant It is - its got lots of restaurants round the outside of the arena. My OH paid for us to use the VIP lounge which was lovely (although probably not really worth the money). We've been to the O2 a couple of times now and the people that work there seem really friendly. Unfortunately a poor man had a heart attack in the VIP bit, we had to move from where we were sitting. They handled it all very professionally. We went back into the bar afterwards and I asked if they knew how he was but sadly he had died. So awful, went for a night out and that happened. What seats do you have as the top tier looked an awful long way up to me - I'm not sure I could have handled sitting up there. You shouldn't be embarrassed about seeing the Talent Tour - I saw Steps once at Wembley
Nutmeg
You shouldn't be embarrassed about seeing the Talent Tour - I saw Steps once at Wembley Your right, I shouldn't be embarassed. We are in Block B3 floor level seating. Thank you for telling me about the Restaurants, etc. I am assuming there are lots of toilet facilities, as my Son is expert at needing the loo just as something is about to start! Seagazer
Don't they always need to go!! Yes plenty of everything. The 02 car park is quite expensive at £20!!! There is a car park at North Greenwich tube station (next door) only cost £6 when we went to see The Osmonds at Wembley (we were obviously getting the tube). I'm not sure if there are time restrictions etc. I hope you have a great time.
Nutmeg
Thanks Seagazer for all the info. We are taking the train to Waterloo and then the tube to North Greenwich.

Clash City Rocker
Just bought Mrs CCR tickets for Barry Manilow at the O2 in December (loads of Brownie points for me !!!). Has anyone travelled to the O2 using the "Clipper service" on the Thames rather than the Underground network ?
