Hello all

 

One of our Girls (Ella) has been laying a HUGE double yoker everyday !

 

Shes been doing it for about the last 4 days in a row and did it again about a month ago for about a week .

 

Is this ok??? , they have been laying for about 2 months now ,im just a bit worried as there Huge ,they wont fit into a chicken egg box ,only a duck egg one !

 

They are fed on a comlplete chicken food and allways have grit and greens ect .

One of mine lays double yolkers for three or four days, then goes back to laying her usual sized eggs for a few weeks. She has been doing that for a while now and she is perfectly healthy.

They tend to lay double yolkers for the first few months of laying, and then it fizzles out.

 

None of mine have laid one for well over 18 months.

we have four or so a week, I thought I was doing something wrong too.. but thank goodness it seems not, they look awfully painful to pass tho...like giving birth to an elephant!!!!
