ED is going to EuroDisney in three weeks time and I have been trying to get a straight answer out of the vodafone customer service team about how much it will cost her to ring us.

 

We have a family group thing which means we can call each other for free for upto an hour in this country. I got the feeling from the first call I made that she will get that free in France too but it is not meant to work and it will be changed over the next couple of months.

 

The second call i made said it would cost 38p per min for her to make calls ans 19 per minute to receive them.

 

We don't know how much phone credit she should have and whether or not we can top it up at the cash point over here when she is over there????

 

I don't know if any of you will know but I hate getting different answers from service departments that are meant to know what they are talking about

I think it costs about 75p a minute to call home ( and if you call another mobile they get charged 75p a min too). Texting is cheaper - works out about 40p a text. I have used my phone abroad and the reception is usually pretty good ( even in the frozen north of Lapland).

 

Oops forgot to say you will have to ask Voda to make sure that the phone is ok to use abroad ( I think some phones have to be unloakced before they can be used abroad)

Give the customer service team a call as Vodafone do an option that they don't widely advertise that allows you to make fixed price calls from abroad. I don't have a vodafone contract anymore but my OH has this option on this work phone.

 

You have to opt in to the overseas pricing deal. They don't automatically add it when they set up the phone for use overseas
