Isolation cage/broody cage advice

Ethel, our light Sussex is being picked on (there has to be one I guess) she was showing blood on the back of her neck a few days ago, i fetched her out, not eas to catch, not used to me yet, and sprayed with tea tree oil and wiped off the blood, yesterday she was pecked at the top of her beak. almost between the eyes! :( Hard to spray that area, didn't want to get it in her eyes!

 

I was wondering whether I should pre-empt the problem and get a dog cage incase I need to separate her? Boyfriend says that it might make matters worse, if you remove her, will she have to start the whole being accepted thing again? I said that you need to separate the hen to aloow it to heal otherwise the others will just keep going especially if they see blood.

 

I don't have anything else suitable to put a potential injured or broody hen, so would the above suit the job?

 

What do others do?
