craftyhunnypie
Grrrr - We were supposed to be going to Wrenbury today for a walk round, bite to eat at the pub & to view the scarecrows on the scarecrow trail, but it's piddling down. What a pain in the bum! It's not even 10am yet & I'm bored. Think it will be a nip out to WHsmiths & buy my Home Farmer magazine instead. Nice, but I really wanted to do something today. Oh drat! craftyhunnypie
Well we are back after calling in at Nantwich aftewrwards. We were a bit disappointed this year - there didn't seem as many scarecrows as normal. We voted for the made from rubbish lady. A woman made totally from recycled plastic bottles, cans, carrier bags etc. Very clever. Also good were Mary Mary quite contrary, Deal or No Deal with Noel Edmonds & the old woman who lived in the shoe had so many children she didn't know what to do. The old woman was a papier mache rabbit & the children were real rabbits in someones front garden. Lovely to see & if you wanted to hold a baby bunny - you could ring the bell & the man / lady would come out & let you. There was also a duck race taking place at 4pm, with cash prizes. We had a snack & cake in the village hall. Tomorrow there is a Summer Fayre on at the school too. It's a lovely village to walk round! Photos to follow when hubby puts them on his computer.
