Karen & co.
I wondered how many of us make ice cream? I have just been to Aldi and bought an ice cream maker and am now sat looking at the box wondering if it would be easier just to use my beater and a bowl in the freezer I haven't made it before and thought this may be the easy way, but there is a lot of planning, because of freezing the bowl for 12-18 hours beforehand I tend to just make things when I can, and this means I may have to be more organised I could always take it back I suppose! Mrs Frugal
I make ice cream, Karen. In fact, I made a big batch of strawberry ice cream yesterday using a machine I bought from Lakeland a few years ago with a bowl you pre-freeze which sounds similar to yours. I bought 2 freezing bowls and keep them permanently in the freezer for spur of the moment ice cream making. It's helpful to have 2 bowls though as its useful for making larger batches but if your machine is anything like mine, it will make really good ice cream in a jiffy - half an hour or so for most types as well as lovely sorbets. Good luck with it. Hope you have fun .
emily95
I make ice cream and the best one we make is Flake Ice cream we make normal vanilla and then chunks of Flake into it! Delicious! :D We bought the machine from lakeland which has a bowl that you have to freeze (I think its what Kate has) Have fun with trying new exciting flavours and let us know what you make! Abbey Road Girl
Homemade ice cream is fantastic! Haven't made any in a while. Peach is gorgeous and vanilla goes so well with so many things, nice warm gooseberry crumble for example. Think I'll dig out the bowl and chuck it into the freezer...
