TAJ
Some of you may remember my 'shall I shan't I about a new car last week - which we test drove and decided to buy on Monday, but will not get until August. The car we are replacing is 13 years old high mileage and though it runs (ran) well the fan was not fully working a window wouldn't work etc, just little things, but we decide a more efficient car seemed the answer. However they would only give us £50 in part exchange, so we had until the end of July to find a private seller - the garage that we use for servicing said this morning it would be worth £100 s"Ooops, word censored!" (given current metal prices). Then this afternoon it breaks down - it has been so reliable and never been a problem - I think it knew we didn't want it anymore . OH ended up getting the AA to tow him direct to the s"Ooops, word censored!" dealer where I met him with the paperwork and it is to be crushed BUT we did get twice what we were offered as a trade in when it was working, plus a bit extra for the tax disc. I suppose the new car idea was fate - just 3 weeks without the car now! Tracy
Ain't Nobody Here
Well, that was good timing . Good that you got more money than you expected too .
Cooks
Well at least it's off your hands. Maybe ring the garage and ask them if they can get your car a little sooner, they did that with me a few years back now though..
TAJ
We would rather wait for the car I think, so it is registered in Aug not July and we are off for a few days and do not want a brand new car left in the drive when we are not here. It was just a nightmare yesterday OH stranded 30 miles away waiting for AA, daughter due to be picked up from school bus (which is still 2 miles away from our house) and me at work the otherside of town without transport. So a manic afternoon, but now it all seems for the best Tracy
