Caroline
hey love, sorry it's taken me a while to reply - it's been bedlam here! sorry to hear about your fox attack. grrr @ those furry fellas. I used to love foxes but since having the ducks and chooks, I have a completely different outlook!! Hope the new ones are settling in well. Our ducklings are definitely both drakes. They're completley beautiful but they're still drakes! We got some new chickens a couple of weeks ago too. They're ex-bats and seem to be fairly rubbish on the laying front (I think only one is laying) but at least we can (hopefully!) offer them a good home. They seem to be loving the free range of the garden and a few of them are very funny - exploring next door's garden (over a four foot fence!) and sitting on the table outside of the living room window watching our every move!! Stealth chickens! On a less happy note, we lost one of our dogs last week. It was terribly sad (I was a complete mess!) but it was totally the right thing to do. he was really poorly and just not enjoying life. It would have been selfish to keep him going. we have a rescue labrador coming to visit this afternoon to see if he wants to stay. All seems quite quick but it's afriend of a friend who needs to rehome andwe would probably have offered anyway and just had three so.......
