Tweety Posted July 14, 2008 Share Posted July 14, 2008 Hi everyone! I am getting 4 ex battery hens this weekend and am busy preparing their new home. They will be living in a second-hand ark until they are strong enough to meet my other girls and I have saved up enough to buy another eglu. I am a bit worried about the flooring in the ark in that there isn't one, just roosting bars. Will they be able to cope with this, or should I put in some sort of solid flooring, at least until they are stronger? Any advice gratefully received. I don't know how bad their little feet will be, and am concerned that they might not be able to manage roosting bars yet. I remeber being quite surprised the first night they were here, as they put themselves to bed at a decent hour and I expected them to lie in the nesting box, but they were lined up in a row on the bars, snoring gently.
