DeanUK
Hi guys and girls Just had a trip to the vets with one of our Miss Pepperpots - lethergic and nasty case of the trots. Vet seems to think that it's just a bacterial upset rather than an acquired infection and has prescribed Baytril. The vet advised egg withdrawal but wasnt clear for how long! So I thought I'd look to see what the experts have said but there seems to be a huge amount of variation on here regarding everyone's experience of egg withdrawal following Baytril! I already trying to think of ways of working out which eggs belong to Daisy so that we don't have to throw them all away! Mum had a fun idea of taping some coloured crayons to her bum so that she signs them on the way out!!! Had me chuckling for ages! Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated! joybelle
One of my girls has recently been on baytril for a week she had a nasty cough which has now cleared up. My vet didnt mention egg withdrawal and we have been eating her eggs, and I didnt think to ask him.
alphabill
Hi I have just been prescribed Baytril for my chickens broken leg. The vet said not to eat the eggs until 7 days after the medicine had finished. Her dose is 2.5% strength and 2ml/s per day. Hope this helps.
