dogs and chickens
I brought some roll away nest box inserts to go in my cube nest box. We don't use them anymore but the two fitted in very well. I brought them on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/plastic-rollaway-nest-box-inserts_W0QQitemZ250276581702QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250276581702&_trksid=p3286.m14.l1318 I could not find the same company as I brought them from, I think it was Ann's Garden or something like that. Hope you find what your looking for.
WitchHazel
I brought some roll away nest box inserts to go in my cube nest box. We don't use them anymore but the two fitted in very well.. I've only got two girls in my Cube at t he moment, and I've not had any egg-breaking problems. However, one of my girls goes broody very easily, so this post has intrigued me. Hope you don't mind me asking, but how did they work in the Cube nest box? Did you still put bedding in and, if so, how did the eggs still roll away?Where did they roll to? Thanks for your help
dogs and chickens
I did not buy them as roll away inserts, I had a problem as the chickens used the cube nest box as one nest box, instead of the three it is meant to be . I had been looking for some sort of divider so they would understand more than one of them would fit in there. To begin with I tryed them without any bedding, they hated them, and prefered to lay on the roosting bars instead! I lasted a day doing this! I then decided as I had not brought them as roll away inserts I would not use them that way. I lined each with newspaper (hense blocking off the roll away part) then filled each with hemcore. The hens then for some reason started going in to lay in pairs and using just the one tray and sharing the one tray. I have now removed the trays and four hens will go in and lay together now . I am very pleased that I don't need to worry about there laying anymore. I would not get rid off my inserts as may be useful for future chickens. Hope you all sort out your problems soon.
