As long as they are fed and watered and checked daily and kept safe from pedators they should be OK.

If your brother is going to clean out the cube during his chickensitting duties, I would take him through your routine before you go. As Eglintine said, tell him to come on here if he gets confused I am sure it will be fine.

Give him a schedule of what to do .... printed out on a day by day basis.

 

He has to sign each one off ... as he does them ... and arrange a good reward of money at the end if all the hens are alive, fed, watered, eggs have been removed and the run in a reasonable situation.

 

Without an incentive -like most teenagers he will forget as soon as you walk out the door.
