*mummy_hen*
Hi All, Went to visit some 12 week old ducks yesterday.....they weren't being very well kept so have ended up rescuing them all.....all 10 of them. We are going to keep a couple but the rest will need rehoming to genuine good homes only. Picking them up on thursday so will be able to sex them then (the so called breeder cannot tell) but thinking i will be looking mostly for homes for drakes as these are harder to home than ducks. If anyone thinks they could offer some a home, please contact me, i may be willing to travel or meet people halfway if necessary to ensure they get the loving homes they deserve. They are all aylesbury duskcs, 5 white, 5 black and white. Thanks, Amy
Lesley
Well done for rescuing them Amy - what a shame we weren't being looked after properly. Sorry, we're not able to help out, we really can't have any more ducks! Our duck was sitting and then abandonned her nest but now the other one is sitting which we didn't really want. We keep moving her off the nest. Ducks are difficult to sex until the drakes grow their curly tail feathers - probably in a few weeks time. Have you posted on the Practical Poultry forum? - many more duck owners over there. Good Luck with the rehoming.
