Aggresive ex battery hen

Recommended Posts

Well, it's been a week since my ex batts arrived, and Annabella is still being aggresive to Amelia. The other two avoid Annabella and run and hide. But poor Amelia just sits there and lets Annabella pin her down.

At the moment my 3 original girls have the run of the shed and walk in run while the ex-batts are in the chicken coop and ajoining rabbit run inside the walk in run. Then at 3:30pm, I let the original girls in the garden, and let the ex-batts have the run of the walk in run and shed.

But even when they have the extra space, Annabella is still chasing Amelia and jumping on her back.

Is it best to seperate Annabella from the other ex-batts and just let them out together in the garden gradually , or will she just continue to bully the other ex-batts?

It is such a shame, as my original 3 never fought, and get on great together, and the other 3 ex-batts get along just fine together. It's just Annabella and I know she has had a rough time with being an ex-batt, but I don't like to see her attacking the others who are smaller and have hardly any feathers.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks
