3 chickens in a run + converter

Recommended Posts

Hi

I just wanted to post to say that the run + converter is now officially (well, in our lives anyway!) enough space for 3 chickens. We have been away for a whole week and the chickens have done no free-ranging at all. We have come back home to three very healthy and happy looking chickens with no feathers missing and one laying an egg every single day (first one was the day before we went away). We have woodchip in the run, a perch and a dustbath and it appears to be plenty to amuse them. Our friend has been visiting once a day to check on food/water levels, and collect eggs and, if she's visited in the afternoon, to give them a treat. Other than that they've had no 'care' whatsoever - no cleaning, no nothing and they're all, like I said, very happy and healthy looking :)

They all made the most almighty racket when we went out to see them this morning - obviously very excited about the prospect of a run-around outside the run.

So if you're looking at getting chickens that may not have much chance to free-range, get a converter and they should be fine (in our experience :) )
