dogmad
I have some weldmesh that I have never used and was hoping I would be able to make my chicken run with it. I am not sure of the guage, it is 1" by 0.5" and 30m long. I bought it from hills of devon. Looking at their website I should imagine it is the 1mm diameter. Would this be suitable/fox proof or is it too flimsy? Thanks Debbie
Tessa the Duchess
The size of the holes is fine, but the important thing is the gauge of it. A fox could chew through 19gauge but not 16gauge. Do you still have your original invoice? If not maybe you could phone the supplier and ask if they keep back records to see what gauge it was that you purchased. Helen&Lee
If you try pushing the mesh squares together with your fingers and feel a bit of movement its probably 19 gauge. Do the same to 16 gauge and there is no movement/flexibility.
