This is Betty's first Egg.

 

And she looked a bit shocked by it all ... as I was too!!!

 

45 grams according to my electronic scales.

 

 

"Ooops, word censored!"ody told me how lovely and warm they are when they come out

 

No cleaning or anything required - that's how it was delivered.

 

Now my other 4 chickens have to pull their socks up and get laying.

 

I was surprised as I thought Wilma would be first as she is the biggest.

 

Looking at all the comb's and wattles, Betty's is the reddest, the other's are still slightly pink.

 

Quite excited - taste test tomorrow!

 

The neighbours probably think I am potty as I thanked Betty for the egg.

We got our girls the same day as you and we got our first egg today too from our lovely pepperpot Ursula. A little smaller at 40g but perfectly formed!

Betty is a Miss Pepperpot. I thought it looked dark too.

 

Probably fried - is that a good choice?

How to you know they are finished laying?

 

Betty was just standing there looking rather shocked by it all and needed a gently helping hand about 5 mins later into the main part of the coop.

Congratulations , my Betty was first to lay too followed by Peebles and then Wilma . and the eggs taste lovely my neighbour said they are like nector from the gods
