Patridge bantam chicken poorly foot?

I've just found on the patio a large white splodge with a tiny bit of yellow in the middle - definitely looks egglike. Not sure which of the girls actually did it but then I saw Hilda squirt out white watery liquid.

 

Does this mean I'm shortly to receive some lovely eggs? I've taken a picture of the one - will try and put it on here.

Do they crouch when you approach them? Are their combs pinking up? Both good signs that they are getting ready to lay.

 

I still get a thrill when I collect an egg, and I always say thankyou to the girls - how sad is that?

I can recognise whose egg is which, so I make sure I thank the right hen and tell her what a lovely egg it is.

 

Anyone else want to join the sad club?

I'm a member of the sad club I know who lays what egg and always thank the right hen too! I still enjoy collecting my very fresh eggs every day

We have an egg Raquel laid one in the nesting box around 11am this morning weighing 39g! I'm so proud! She was in and out all morning and bokking quite a lot.

 

All 3 of my girls are now crouching so hopefully I may get more than one egg over the weekend!!!
