Cassandra's first egg!

We had so far only been getting eggs from our ex-batts, but today the first of our "young ones" laid an egg - can't belive how much I wanted to scoop her up and cuddle her I was so proud (but Cassandra is an exchequer leghorn who would not appreciate such behaviour!). It means that in addition to the light brown (sometimes speckled) ex-batt eggs, we now have a (albeit very small, but it was her first) white egg in the fridge. Can't believe how excited and soppy we all become over a chicken laying an egg!!!!
