they grow so fast... so slow...

Recommended Posts

our 2 chicks are growing at very different rates

the Legbar, which was hatched under a broody, is growing so much faster than the Plymouth Rocks that was incubated

the difference, although they are 2 days apart, is blatantly obvious

the Plymouth, a week old today, looks about the stage the Legbar was at 2 days old... all fluffy with the hint of wing feathers coming through

do you think it has something to do with the method of incubation or is there a big difference in size when fully grown ? :?

think I'm gonna have to segregate them until the Plymouth catches up a bit :?

I wouldn't if you can avoid it. You might then have the problems later when it comes to reintroducing them.

Why not put several feed and drink stations about the place. She will only be able to "man" two, so a minimum of three will mean that the others can eat.

Or you could just separate her for short periods each day so that the others fill up.
