josephine77 Posted August 17, 2008 Share Posted August 17, 2008 I would say Sharp sand should be fine if you're going to mix it in with soil / existing play sand. Play sand has just been screened to remove any stones / foregn objects, but Sharp sand should be ok - it's just a bit grittier. Hope this helps. It just looks a bit grity and full of bits of sharp stuff. I know they would probably be okay with it, but id rather not risk it for the price of a bag of sand. Thanks everybody. EileenH Posted August 18, 2008 Share Posted August 18, 2008 This alarmed me a bit. (Only had the lassies ten days so I`m easily alarmed). I`ve made them a dust bath for the run from sand and compost as advised but they often bathe in the garden soil when they free range and this is dusty, mucky, sandy, gritty, stony, bitty - you name it! Does a slightly gritty dust bath in the run matter so much when they bathe in such a mixture in the garden? Should I discourage them from bathing in the garden? They seem to love it.
