Butty
Hi there Doris one of our Gingernuts has been pecking at the others for a while and I thought it was just the pecking order sorting itself out. But we went down to the run earlier and she had drawn blood from our other Gingernut Floss. What to do for the best?? I have been holding her down since she started pecking the others. The patch is between Floss's wings just above her tail and really red raw. I can't believe it's happened so quickly she didn't have any sign yesterday. Poplars
I have recently had this problem. What I did (not necerssaraly the right thing ) was seperate the injured chook until she is healed and looking a bit perkier, this tooka few weeks for us because she was quite badly hurt, hopefully you will be better prepared. We have just started to reintroduce her to the other two chickens again, they are sorting out the pecking order again so she has lost a few more feathers but fingers crossed it will settle down soon and they will all be best mates again! Hope this helps and your chicken is fine soon, Eve
