chooklady
Abby's Bluebelle, Blossom has been tucked away in the nest box for 3/4 of an hour. All the others are out free ranging at the moment, but not her. Nothing is distracting her. She is always first to investigate everything that is going on. Is it likely that she is going to lay? If not today then maybe in the next few days? She is about 5 1/2 months old. Am I right in thinking that they don't usually go back into their house during the day unless they are going to lay? It's very tense in our house at the moment, will she won't she? Your comments will be greatly appreciated. Nicola
lisa33
It sounds promising. Does she crouch when you go near her? That's a really good sign they're coming into lay.
chooklady
Hello Lisa, Not all the time, she is more likely to do it if the space she is in is a little bit confined. She has come out now but she was in there an hour roughly and she wasn't going to budge. Will have to see what happens tomorrow. Ain't Nobody Here
Oh well, she's obviously gearing up and hasn't quite got the egg laying tackle sorted yet . Bet she lays a proper one tomorrow!
